The "cloweresses", "missenaires" sifters and washers of ore[Print 20]
This print shows two other methods of sorting ore. On the left, women called "cloweresses" (zoom 1) (from the German klauben select pure particles of ore. On the right the "missenaires" (zoom 2) (miners originally from the province of Meissen in Saxony) surrender to a delicat task: washing through a screen, similar to the work of gold miners.
