The "schlaideurs" separate the good ore[Print 17]
The sorting of the ore is essentially a manual operation. The schlaideurs (from the German scheiden meaning "to separate") work under three rudimentary lean-tos breaking the ore over an anvil (zoom 1). The ore that can be used immediately is stocked in two stocking areas, then sent to the "bocard". The scraps, on the other hand, are taken to the dump by wheelbarrow.
