The extracter ore is hoisted to the entrance level and brought out in push carts (zoom 3) by the carters. The ore is then sorted roughly by washing in sieve basins (zoom 2). The large blocks are sledge hammered (zoom 1) by the "breakers of large ore". Anything useless, or too expensive to exploit, is rejected directly onto the ballast.
