At the mine[Print 8]
Incomplete print
Here is the entrance to the mine. The entrance opens onto a trapezoidal porch. On the ground the wooden rails lead to the ballast and the processing workshops. We also see the mine house, which acts as an office for the foremen and storage for tools. The foremen are easily recognizable: they are sitting in front of the house, and carry an axe. The chest on which the the oldest of the head miners is sitting contains tallow. In the foreground there is a pile of pointerolles (zoom 1).
