The life of a silver mine in the 16th century, according to Heinrich Groff
The Kointz House, belonging to the mine inspector [Print 1]
Here is part of the village of Croix-aux-Mines showing the Mine Inspector, Kointz's house. The size of this house, it's pointed roof, and flags, and the four angled tours make it the best house in the village.
The other houses are built with stone, but also with wood. The windows are sometimes made up of small diamond-shaped panes of glass assembled with lead, like stained glass windows.
Unfortunately, this print is incomplete because only the "la" in "de la Croix" is included along the top of the picture.
