Jack HALPERN is a long time resident of San Francisco California and has been an active mineral collector for over 35 years. During this time he has assembled a magnificent world-wide collection of almost 3500 pieces. His primary collecting criteria are aesthetics and form.
Along with minerals, Jack’s passion in life is raising orchids and roses, and has at least one orchid species named in his honor. In keeping with this, he refers to his collection of well-crystallized minerals as " the flowers of the mineral kingdom ". He is also quite fond of chocolate.
