Gerd M. Wiedenbeck began collecting minerals and fossils when he was 14 years old.
He studied Geology gaining a diploma degree (MSc) at the Technical University of Darmstadt, Germany. Today Gerd is owner and managing director of an environmental engineering company (www.uc-tec.de) near Heidelberg, where he lives with his family.
Alpine minerals from the Swiss and French Alps are his favourites, with Fluorite and other fine minerals worldwide, like Wulfenite, Rhodochrosite and Tourmaline.
Gerd is still an active field collector in the Alps and US and sometimes finds some very nice material.
